Such a sturdy looking building - certainly built to last. And it has . . . even though the need for it has passed. Nice information in your description - so glad they replaced the roof.

Artist's Description

Mulberry trees frame this rural landscape of the historic native stonework one room school building in the Silkville Kansas ghost town. Boarded up to protect it from vandals, but the roof has been replaced to preserve the building. The mulberry trees were part of the food supply for the silk worms used to produce silk here in KS from 1869-1888

About Kevin Anderson

Kevin Anderson

As the Back Roads Photographer, the back roads that I, shoot can be found most anywhere, but mostly in Kansas and Missouri. I enjoy a eclectic look, sometimes on the the beaten track of so many artists before me or being on a tangent, exploring new creative things. I like to explore back roads of the country, city and of my mind. Photography is most of my images with some digital art from photograph that I feel suites the image.
